Hi All,
'
Is there any way to keep permanent settings of preferred search criteria? That persists between session, between item search's etc?
I'm from Australia. I search for second hand stuff and I'm not remotely interested in what's available from the US or anywhere else - yet I'm forced to, for every individual search, "Select Australia" only and if I happen to slightly change the search string, say Leather SKin to Leather Hide, all the previous settings disappear - only to reselect "Australia" only again.
Granted the site is orientated towards sellers, it makes the usefulness of EBay a frustrating experience.
Is there away to stop this endless changing of search tweaking. I would probably make more frequent purchases if I dont have to continually mess around.
EBay support is less than interested in assisting.
Regards

if you are doing the same search many times in a week you can save the search. If you do the search, with all your preferences first, and then hit the save button it will save those preferences. You would then only be a few clicks away from having that search conducted again as it would be saved in your lists over to the right hand side of the page. You can even name the search with phrases like "seats Leather" or "seats hide" e.g. I have a saved search for "Sigma Lens Pentax in Australia"
You can even choose to receive an email every time a new listing appears that meets your saved search criteria.

Up the top next to the search bar is a small link named 'Advanced'. In here you can select to only show items from ebay AU. These settings should stick, it's the same place you can select 'ending soonest' rather than ebays default 'best match'.

I also am sick and tired of having to re enter it every time.
Your respondent who says set it up in advanced seasrch must have a smarter system than mine.
eBay didn't answer when I asked them the qyuestion

I use Google to search for items these days as it's more reliable and I've been pleasantly surprised by what I've found on many occasions]:)
