Seller abusive after I opened a INAD dispute with ebay when he did not respond to it.

Okay today I opened a dispute after trying to deal with a seller and get him to respond to ebays process.

I bought a brand new never used monitor off of him.

When it arrived it contained only a monitor and base absolutely no cables no power adapter nothing.

I contacted him on the day I got the monitor and asked where the cables were. He said they were in the box.

I said they were not there he asked if box was sealed. I said it was he wanted to talk to Aus post that was fine with me. But I opened a thing with ebay not paypal to be safe.

I said if he could find the cables and missing bits all would be fine.

he said he would refund me if I returned the monitor.

I said I would return it if he paid all postage . He refused. I said it is not my error and would not pay postage.

He said ebay says I would have to pay. I have heard differently. I asked him more than once to sespond to the ebay dispute he didn't Ialso told him it was not with paypal.

He claims I was rude and difficult to work with. He has 150 things of %100 feed back I have over 600 in %100.

Today time was up I escalated the claim and I copped a rather rude message.

What should I do?

If it was just a power cable I would not have worried but it was all cables.

And if it's true that you never leave negs, no matter what the seller does, then you're doing every other buyer on eBay a huge disservice. Think about it.

I have been on ebay for 12 years selling and buying and I have never ever left a seller negative feedback but I have received about 3 negatives.

But I know for a fact that there are buyers that intentionally do leave negative feedback for sellers that absolutely don't deserve them.

If the seller 100% deserves a neg then go ahead and give it,but don't give a seller a negative when the seller has/had no control over what the situation might have been

I would never dream of it. I may leave a neutral if the shipping is exceptionally slow though

Anyone reading my gift card thread can see the abuse and snide suggestions that I'm some sort of problematic buyer for leaving any sort of negative feedback, and even for starting the thread. You were one of the abusers. I'm not surprised that you see yourself in a heroic light though.

That's unfair to direct those sort of comments to a very well respected member of the forums mark.

A lot of the abuse in the aformentioned thread came from your keyboard, notably the 5 or more very recent ones that were deleted by the mods...

You mean the ones where I objected to being called "stupid" and a "scamer(sic)"?

Yes, I suppose I should have taken those on the chin, eh? I mean, you've gotta cut tall poppies down here, it seems....

I have always found it's best for the buyer and seller to try and work things out.

As far as this goes " And don't forget to leave a negative feedback, no matter how this turns out."  well it speaks volumes about the

member who would give that kind of advise, very sad indeed. Smiley Sad

at the risk of this looking like I am getting into a dispute with mark.potamus, I will respond.  I will have to choose my words carefully as there is some forum policy regarding re-posting of 'removed post' content, and I do not feel inclined to cop posting violations over this. Also I do not want my words to be twisted to seem like I am saying something I am not.

You complain about the treatment dished out to you but then you post this in reply to me?  I chose my words carefully to avoid confrontation with other posters, and I would like to think my posting history would clearly show this.  In fact, there have been threads where I expressly avoid conflict by not posting in reply to posts that might be seen as "baiting" me.  What can I say, I'm a lover not a fighter.

My reply to this post of yours may not be to your liking, but sometimes this happens on the boards.

If I had not read the removed posts from your gift card thread this morning I might have been inclined to send you a private message divulging all my eBay IDs to you so that you could go and look at the feedback I have left others on all my IDs to show that there are no negs there.  However, after reading the removed posts where you directly named a member and divulged their residential suburb (with a thinly veiled threat of making a trip there) I would hope that even you would understand why I will not be doing this.  If I did, you may well take it upon yourself to post all my IDs on here for all to see, and I do not want that.

There are some long term posters here that know my all of my IDs. They would be able to confirm that I have not left any negs for sellers, and that I have left more feedback than I have received (currently running around 80%), and that my cumulative total of buyer feedback would support my statement that I have about the same number of buys as you, but my word should be good enough and I am not going to ask others to contradict your unsubstantiated claim that what I have posted is "pure, unadulterated bullçrap" and have them subjected to the same sort of reply as you have afforded me.

I'll leave it at that mark.potamus.

So if the seller posts the item the same day that you made payment but you receive your item after the stated

delivery time do you give a neutral?
