I was bidding on an item and when I went to check on it,it was gone so I looked through things
to try and find out what happened.
First I looked at the sellers items and found the item was now a BIN item with the price marked up.
But when I went into the auction history it has that I retracted the bid.
What a load of **bleep**ing horse **bleep**.
This is a high volume seller and ebay has gone and given this seller the power all mighty to be able
to somehow retract my bid,how is this even possible?
I never retracted my bid but it shows that I did, well **bleep** you ebay.
This has just gone too far, ebay you're a joke.
If the seller cancelled because they thought they weren't going to get more money then fair enough
but to make it as though I retracted my bid that's just bull**bleep**.
I'm done buying on ebay so all those fees that ebay receives because of my buying well that's the end.

It would be interesting to know if he makes a habit of it. I used to often bid on a sellers items. I never won anything because 12 hours before the auctions finished he ended them and relisted them. He always started at 99c. I sent him a message one time asking why he kept ending the listings and he said it was because he wasn't prepared to sell them for 99c. Well, don't start them at flippin' 99c then! He said it was to attract buyers. I replied that it clearly wasn't working and did it ever occur to him that some people don't bid until the last few seconds? He said he wasn't prepared to risk it.
I ended up reporting him......a few times. About 2 years ago I somehow became friends with one of my buyers (who I'm still friends with). He mentioned one time about bidding on this particular sellers items, but never won anything because the listings kept being cancelled. He mentioned the seller and it was the same one. He ended up reporting him too. My guess is he lost his selling privileges because he hasn't listed anything for over 2 years now. He had a very distinct way of listing and I've not seen other listings coming anywhere close to his way, so I don't think he's selling under a different account.
If it looks like your seller is making a habit of it, report him.

The seller would have had to cancel your bid before he could cancel the listing.

Do sellers now have some way now to retract a bidders bid because I am gobsmacked because I have checked
my retractions for the past 12 months and it says 27 but I haven't retracted a single bid.
How can a cancellation by a seller turn out to show a bid retraction by a bidder?
Ebay is going to have some explaining to do

Yes it shows as cancelled but because I retracted the bid but I din't retract it and I haven't retracted any bids in the past 12 months
but it shows that I have 27 retractions.

No it was coins obviously and the seller had a start price which was high and I bid on it,it had a few days to go
and then it disappeared and wham I'm the one that has retracted the bid as the reason.

I might need a dust extractor soon though as I can't see the treasure down in the dungeon anymore with all that
dust piling up on it

I will report the seller.
But I don't understand how all of these cancellations are coming up as a bid retraction?
He would have had a sale if he let the auction take its course but now he has put the price up the same as other sellers
that aren't selling the coins due to the high price oh well his loss.

Cancellations don't come up as bid retractions on buyers feedback unless there was an ebay glitch which caused it.
If you say your account is showing 27 bid retractions and you haven't retracted any bids in the last 12 months then you should contact ebay and ask them to remove the bid retractions from your account.
A seller has the right to end an auction early so unless it is something the seller is doing on a regular basis there is nothing to report the seller for.
