Seller did not reveal they are selling for someone else

The problem here is that I have contracted to buy an item from someone who is not actually the seller. The seller has good feedback and so I trusted the item description (eg used but "in perfect condition").

The 'hidden seller' was allowed to list the item with their own description and this hidden seller has, of course, no feedback and I have no basis to judge the trustworthiness of their description.

I feel that I have been mislead (not intentionally but mislead nevertheless) and the transaction is now too risky and may need to be cancelled. Am I entitled to cancel?

I know how it has ended up making me feel

That's only because you not only took the thread personally and read into it a bit deeply but you also started another thread to highlight the fact that your son has a disability and what if this happened to himself or someone else with an intellectual disability.

I just wonder how this thread would work as a promotional tool ?if people would feel safe asking a question or if they would read this and not risk it?

Considering the amount of threads by sellers whinging that they can't leave negative feedback for buyers I would hazard a guess that not a lot go through the threads and see if there is a  thread relating to their whinge  question

whatever my reason would not matter really. It's how it reads. The delight some seem to be taking in the  public flogging (even introducing old threads ).It comes across as mass bullying for entertainment  and if I was a new buyer needing to ask a question and read this first I would not ask for fear that I would be ridiculed now and for ever after.I may be put off buying all together given the number involved. That's kind of how I feel now.Too many people throwing stones at how the OP behaved who can't seem to see how they are behaving...or think it is OK on a Public forum.

Iza, i do not think there was one single person who agreed with the OP; he was given over and over politely and patiently, basically the same correct answers.  It was his choice to come back over and over again with new and ever more silly arguments, and in time he was quite abusive.  Pity those posts were removed, they should have stayed to show exactly the person he is.  I do not know why it should you make feel uncomfortable.

supa nova I saw them here.I do understand the issues.1 person behaving badly is one thing ...but when multiple people do it and use the 'he deserves it' attitude it doesn't look good for them or the whole place .Now does what someone else does  excuse how they themselves behave.

It is making me feel quite ill.

There are far too many posts on this thread which are off topic and could be reported.

the one thing I regret about threads like this is the new way eBay removes posts (and the post #) so they dont make any sense or look 'different' to the thread as a Whole.

in the old days... like a year or so ago.... at least we had the shutters... the line denoting a removed post and all post numbers remained in correct order.

Austeam and Iza, maybe you should go back to the very first page of this thread.  The OP was determined to be nasty from post #2 and has continued along the same track all the way through.

Is it really acceptable to you to see one of our well respected members called a Troll because she gave a correct answer that the OP did not want to hear?

Ok, there's no doubt whatsoever that the OP could have been very different in their approach.  - I was one of the ones who copped it earlier in my attempt to be both reasonable and helpful - however, I think the point that Austream and Iza are making is very very very important.

And what I'm getting from what they are saying is NOT that the OP was in the right in his opinion or his delivery but that this does not give anybody the right to behave nastily in turn.

Sure.  Point out a lack of logic or a poor argument.  Stick up for someone who is being unfairly called a troll or being treated rudely, ABSOULTELY!.  But do so with without sarcastic jibes or nastiness.  That is hypocritical and unhelpful.

And don't start the lynching for those who would gently suggest we can all do a little better in what we say and how we say it!

Everyone can do with this reminder, I know that I can!
