The problem here is that I have contracted to buy an item from someone who is not actually the seller. The seller has good feedback and so I trusted the item description (eg used but "in perfect condition").
The 'hidden seller' was allowed to list the item with their own description and this hidden seller has, of course, no feedback and I have no basis to judge the trustworthiness of their description.
I feel that I have been mislead (not intentionally but mislead nevertheless) and the transaction is now too risky and may need to be cancelled. Am I entitled to cancel?

Just a friendly suggestion for a few people to go back & read what they've written on 1st few pages of this thread & compare it to what they've written on last few pages.
Oh & I finally 'get' the Republic of Slovenia joke Dave :_|:8}:8}:8}

No matter what has been posted in this thread and someone's concern for new comers being put off by what has been said and laughed about, does anyone really think a newcomer is going to come here looking for help and then read a thread over 400 posts long?
I don't think so.
I don't think new posters are fools so they will look for existing threads that deal with problems similar to the ones that has made then come looking for help.
Also they are more likely to read threads with only 10 to 20 posts.
If there are so many things wrong with this thread then surely those that find fault should do the right thing and report the offending posts or just report the whole thread.

Or they could just not read the thread again

yep, I agree.
I got a slap for an earlier post of mine here that was removed. I have no problem with that. I also have no problem with the person who reported me (whoever that may be).

I have this feeling from reading some of the posts here that one must not have a sense of humour nor should one have a personality.
Everything has to be bland and devoid of anything that might indicate that the post is written by an individual with their own opinion, personality and sense of humour.
I have found that most (if not all) that do have a laugh are also able to laugh at themselves and their own mistakes.
But that is not good enough we must all bland down because we must live in misery for fear we upset one in a million.
Would all those happy posters please keep their sense of humour, don't hide it just because some want you to be as miserable as they are.

'perfect' can 'ave many meanings
Lacking nothing essential to the whole; complete of its nature or kind.
Completely suited for a particular purpose or situation:
Excellent and delightful in all respects
Yep. It could mean a number of things within the context of that listing.
The matter's resolved anyway. Both parties should be relatively happy. Snesn saved $400 on something he didn't want and the seller can just relist.

Are you talking about the followup to the neg that OP has not long left ?
Follow-up by snesn (02-Jan-13 21:52):This matter has been satisfactorily resolved. Please remove the above feedback.
