Seller failed to deliver.

Hi all, bid and won an item yesterday, fair and square, paid by Paypal, next thing I get a cancellation request from the seller, wanting to cancel, as I failed to pay by bank deposit. He does not have card facilities, he claims just bank deposit or nothing, yet when I confirmed the listing, Ebay has it that he does accept Paypal, but he I found he does not have a Paypal account, which by the rules he must have, or at least a card facility. So, I go in and check my Paypal payment, and yes, he doesn't have an account, as it was marked that the buyer hasn't claimed the payment. I realized this was going nowhere, so I just cancelled the payment within Paypal. He got what he wanted, for the sale to be cancelled, doing so, wasting my time. After the auction ended I got an abusive message from him about demanding bank deposit, not Paypal, and said he would just 'keep the item''. I asked why he wanted bank deposit only, was it that the item, a model train, was defective, even though he listed it as ''used, but new'', whatever that means. I told him that buyers like to have a bit of protection from seelers such as him, and bank deposit leaves us buyers out in the cold when things go belly up. Anyway, the best part to this little event is this: He had another listing to ''go off' later last night, I got straight in before that and put a torpedo right into his dashboard. The item had 12 bids on it and was sitting at $165, an hour before it was due to end. It ended with the same bidder and didn't get past the $165. The winning bidder was a low score buyer that has had many bid cancellations in the last 6 months. I feel much better about this wasted  time now lol

Re the neg, if this is shill as suspected, he could send a feedback revision to himself lol but that wouldn't have it removed, only upgraded

If that were a shill account it wouldn't make sense to leave a neg to begin with, especially one detailing the seller's insistence on bank deposit only.

I have no idea how it could have been removed so quickly though.

Especially as the seller had been (presumably) spoken to by eBay for trying to insist on bank deposit only............

I dont know what the go is here with Ebay's fraud dept, but the longer they let him go loose, the more it makes them appear to be disinterested in following up on reported sellers. I might just try another contact to them and rev this up a bit. Otherwise, next time I wont bother. I know he is scamming, and you all on here know it, but some newvcomers might not, and get caught.

Bidding has finished on one item at $207, not sure if it was ''won'' or he pulled it once again. Be intersting to watch his feedback if it was won by someone ''real''.

The auction ran its course. Started on the 16th at 14:58:37, ended 23rd 14:58:37.

That's so wrong about the feedback being removed. Especially when sellers have struggled really hard to get a neg removed that breaks all the rules, only to be told too bad, it stays.

It will be interesting to see if he relists that one again. I just hope the person who left the feedback didn't actually go ahead and pay. If they only had 8 feedback, they may not know about buyer protection and all that.

Well my friends, he is still on here, trying to scam, and I have made two very extensive reports to Ebay, so it looks like it is all go for the rest of us also. Just do screen shots of expensive items, dont add a proper description, demand bank deposit, get your mates to bid, or bid yourself using fake accounts, and you are all good to make big money. It appears as though what he is doing must be legal as far as the rules go. Sometimes in this world I think the people with the most ''front'' and disregard for any rules and regulations, are the ones doing better than us honest folk. I'm not bothering even watching his ''items'' any further, a total waste of my time it has been.

You're right, but if it was you or I, ebay would come down on us like a tonne of bricks.

Ended 4 listings today, more listings up, some might be the same I'm not sure, already 2 bids in place. Interesting yet again the 2 bidders have the same feedback score. 5 feedback this time, 8 last time. Coincidence? 😎

I have it on good authority the 8-fb score bidder from the cancelled listings wasn't shilling, but the 15 (now 16)-fb score one might have been, so it will be interesting to see if they pop up again in any of the current auctions.
