Two items I really wanted. Waited hours to bid. With fifteen seconds still to go --- according to Ebay-Time -- I placed my bid.
And up came the screen: ' Bidding has ended for this item' or whatever it says
I stayed away from this place for over six months
Returned a couple of days ago to discover it's even worse than when I left
Soon as I've completed a couple more items I'm out of here
and I'll be staying away for a lot longer than six months, next time around

Why didn't you just bid on the items earlier? That way you would have either been outbid, or got the items you were after...

Tens of millions of people choose to bid in the final few seconds
Or, they use a programme which does that for them
It works to most people's satisfaction as long as ebay synchronises its screen time with the rest of its system

Well, I suppose thst is just the risk that you take when you bid on items at the last second, Maybe you should not be relying on eBay to synchronise its screen time with the rest of its system

Maybe you could read what you've just written
At least 20 others will read it
and they'll probably roll their eyes

Polo, I can understand what you are saying and I have done it too. Sometimes, I place my bid and click to confirm, then it may take a few seconds longer. During that time, the bidding has run out of time and I have lost out. Maybe give a little more tIme next time you bid ( say 25 -30 seconds ) Just a suggestion ๐

There is a thing called one click bid, this allows u to bid instantly instead of going through the confirm your bid part. Most bidders bid this way in the last minute of an auction. But I understand what OP is saying, ebays time left on an auction doesn't coincide with what the actual time left is and when you go to bid well the auction has already ended, this happens alot.
