Seller not communicating and also past estimated delivery date.

So on November 1st I bough this item 331690748899. On the 5th of November I contacted the seller requesting a update on the condition of whether or not it has been posted however recieved no responce. The estimated delivery date was was yesterday and he has yet to reply to the many forms of contact that I have tried. I have also noticed that the delievery has been marked as posted or shipping. I have even requested his phone number to try contact him however no luck. Is this normal behavour or should I request a refund and if there is still no response what should I do?

Seller not communicating and also past estimated delivery date.

Which will get them their money back, how?

Most people want a resolution that doesn't leave them out of pocket, rather than simple vilification.

I ordered items in January from a certain seller, it hadn’t arrived by the estimated date so I contacted the seller. The seller assured me that they would send another package out but it’s now OCTOBER and I STILL HAVE NOT received my package. I can’t leave feedback or contact the seller due to it being purchased almost 9 months ago.

Correct.

You have done your dough.

You have 30 days from the last estimated delivery date with eBay, 180 days from the date of sale with Paypal and usually no more than 6 months with a credit card chargeback.

Unfortunately, there is nothing you can do now as you have left it too long. For an eBay dispute it must be opened within 30 days of the last ETA. For a PayPal dispute, you have 6 months from the date of purchase. You only have 60 days from the date of purchase to leave feedback.

If you funded the transaction with a credit card, you might be able to do a charge back, but banks have time limits too. Worth a try though.

In future, NEVER let a seller string you along. Given what you have written, I will assume that the seller was Asian. They are notorious for stringing you along until it's too late. If an item hasn't arrived a week or 2 after the last ETA, open a not received dispute. Don't let a seller say you need to close a dispute to get a refund. That is a lie. You dont ever close a dispute until you have resolution (either a refund, or the item). When you have to chance to esacalate the dispute, do so, otherwise it will time out and close.

Also, NEVER accept the offer to resend an item. It won't be sent and it just strings things out longer. Always get a refund. You can always re buy the item.

I hope you didn't lose a lot of money.

EDIT: Hi Dave. I started this post about half hour ago and got a phone call before I could submit it.

Hi this is the reply I wrote a couple or so hours ago but for some reason after a number of attempts it wasn't posted.I saved it to notepad.

Hi, I'm real sorry to hear that this has happened to you. It appears that you may have fallen victim to an old trick employed by some sellers. They delay you, hoping that you lose track or you keep believing they'll set things right. This happened to me some years back. Seller misgraded an item. It was very bad and they said they'd send me a copy from their personal collection. Nothing ever arrived. Ages later I remembered and it was too late. It's going to be way past 180 days so you can't put in a PayPal claim.

Gosh, these sellers (some of them) need to be banned.

The best and only thing you can do is try to appeal to the seller's better nature or tell them that you'll report them. Believe it or not, sometimes that works.
