Many sellers do not mark things as posted. Just wait a reasonable time for the item to arrive then contact the seller if it has not turned up.
What do you propose to do now anyway if you don't believe the seller? If you call him a liar I can see the whole transaction going pearshaped.

All the sellers Ive dealt with have marked items as posted. That is your proof of that. Same as when you pay for an item. You have proof of that on the ebay site, a bit like a receipt. I hardly think the seller would be dishonest. If they were they would be investigated and not allowed to trade on ebay. Simple.
Just because they've marked it as sent doesn't mean they have. Totally different to paying for an item where Paypal mark it as paid, not the seller.
You seem to have this blind spot about dishonest sellers being investigated and banned. Even in the face of evidence to the contrary. By your own admission you have bought at least one fake. Did you report the seller?
And the boards are public - you don't have a say as to who posts in a thread, even one you start.
