Seller refusing to listen

Hi all, I recently purchased two items from a seller. I asked prior to purchase if they combined postage. They said yes. I won both auctions. Seller didn't send combined invoice for a couple of days, so I sent a message. She then tells me she doesn't know how to do it. I talk her through the process. No response or invoice.

Fast forward a few days. She has marked both items as paid (never sent her a dime) and she's sent them off (she showed me a postage cost receipt with tracking). They were put in one parcel, which is what I requested. I told her that I still haven't paid for the items and that it isn't wise to mark items as paid or send things off without payment being made. Told her I would be contacting eBay for advice on how to proceed. No response from her.

Reached out to eBay yesterday. They advised me to tell her to send a PayPal invoice and gave me steps to send her. Told her this, yet she can't even do that. I told her to send screenshots of the invoice she's trying to send. She put my supposed eBay email (not the email used for my PayPal or for signing up to eBay). I advised her to try entering my PayPal email (yes, I know you shouldn't send a personal email address out, but I'm getting desperate at this point and I've wasted a lot of time sorting this out). No response from her.

Now we are at today. It's been a week since I won the auctions. This is becoming more hassle than what it's worth, but I really want the items. I did ask eBay what the next steps would be. They said to accept delivery, reach out and ask if she wishes for me to make payment or return to sender the parcel.

Has anyone had a similar experience, and if so, how did you handle it? How would you approach this? Eight years of eBaying, and this has to be my strangest transaction to date.

Hmm, maybe you could send a cheque to her address, which will obviously be on the parcel (a non- transferable cheque), but I am not sure how you can do this as an eBay transaction, and transactions outside eBay are not allowed).

Is this a new seller? She sounds a bit inexperienced...

On second thoughts, if the seller marked the item as paid on eBay, I think it is obviously an eBay transaction, so you can pay in any way you want, including by cheque...
