I bought some sugar roses for my daughter's 18th birthday, live in a country town can't get them here. I asked for two extra in case some got damaged in transit to the coast where we are going for her birthday. She offered two extra for free and coloured them in the colour I asked for. When they got here they were soft, not hard like sugar flowers should be, and many were damaged and even the ones that weren't aren't as nice as the picture on the listing. She had only wrapped them in two layers of Gladwrap and put into a small padded post bag. They came from Queensland and it has been so hot and humid. She charged two dollars extra for handling on top of what it cost her to post them. Luckily I found a cake decorating shop in a town 100km from here and got some new ones which were packed in a box as the original ones should have been. My dilemma now is should I leave a neg which I really hate to do for anyone. I also hadn't noticed she had only sold two things, her other FB was for buying stuff. I feel I should warn others. Not sure what to do, any thoughts?

I would contact the seller - I think it's important to give the seller a chance to respond. Depending on her response, you can make a judgement.
If she is inexperienced, and offers a full refund, I probably wouldn't take it further.

I would let the seller know. The packing sounds strange as she emphasises how fragile the item are in the listing. I have to wonder if someone else packed them for her.
Give her a chance to rectify the matter before you leave feedback at all.

Thanks to both of you, it didn't occur to me to contact her and tell her what happened. Duh! I will do that.

And send photos as well so the seller will know the packing was not good enough and a box with bubble wrap does a better job.

I sent her a polite message explaining how they arrived, including a photo, and what I expect to happen next (partial or full refund) so we'll see what happens.
Thanks again so much for your input.

It was not a good move to ask for a refund...it could be looked upon as a demand in return for good feedback.
It is up to the seller whether they refund or replace the item.

Oh really? Well she offered 50% refund (of purchase price only) which she quickly put back into Paypal before I could respond. I'm just going to let it go, I feel for anyone who buys from her in future though, she seems to have lots of other perishables listed. Good news is that I got much nicer roses from the cake deco shop (and he packed them properly!) Thanks again for input.
