This doesn't always happen but I have just had it happen for the second time. You place a max bid at 5 secs and the confirm bid comes up at 4 secs, you hit confirm, so allow that to be 3 secs before it gets there and the item flashes up as ended before it gets to 0 secs. And it's all over and that person just lost about $40 on their item. Can anyone tell me what goes?

It could be a slow down in your internet connection, there could be a slight delay from the servers at either end or any number of other things. I usually put my highest bid in about 10 seconds before the item ends, if I don't win then it has gone for more than I was prepared to pay but I know it is almost certain to register and I will win if nobody has bid higher.

Thanks for the reply, I have since spoken to others who are doing this a lot more often than I am and they have all said that 10 seconds is the best to guarantee success.
