Someone bought an item but used mums paypal!

Hi ebayers,

My mum had an unauthorised transaction in her paypal account tonight,

She has contacted paypal to try to stop the transaction, we have checked the ebay item number & it is a legitimate item with a purchase made at the time mums account was used to pay.

the buyer is newish  (13 feedback)

is there anyway we can alert ebay to this scammer?

or any other advise?

But that is a good thing....you now have the name and address of the buyer, which should be enough for ebay to track the scammer.  It is unlikely that they have sent it to someone else, or what would be the advantage of using a stranger's paypal account to send to another stranger?

Has your Mother got  credit or Visa debit card attached to her paypal account?   If yes, ring the 24/7 phone number to report that someone has access to her accounts.

Have you spoken to anyone at paypal yet?   You need to...it is not something to try and handle alone.

it happened tonight & outside of hours she could phone paypal but we will try to ring them and ebay in the morning, she has received confirmation of the paypal dispute 🙂

Has the money been taken from her bank account or credit card or was it paypal funds?  You really need to notify your bank if her accounts have been or could be accessed.  Do not wait for paypal to act or she may be paying for more than one ebay purchase.
