This is a scam? I find the price very low. Seller is not communicating. Would you bought? http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/New-1080P-5000lumens-Android4-4-Full-HD-LED-Smart-Wifi-3D-Home-Theater-Pr...

Joe, once again you have been skimming over messages and only picking out the bits to back up your argument. I am assuming the post you are talking about is the one on the sellers forum where the moderator very kindly clarified a few things for everyone. What the moderator wrote was:
We do not allow users to advertise websites or post links to any commercial websites. Acceptable websites would be informational websites (for example, if someone needs help ID'ing an item). The website should not have any kind of commercial aspect to it, as in, if you can purchase an item from the site, it is better to not post on the boards. As usual, linking to any competitor/auction website is not allowed.
That website is an informational website, it is not a commercial website. A commercial website is one that offers items for sale. EBay is a commercial website. Sellers here who have their own websites, they are commercial websites because they sell things, therefore they are not allowed to post a link to their site.
You are allowed to post links to say, the eBay facebook page because items don't get sold on their facebook page (probably a bad example, I know). If a buyer posted a message saying they had bought a watch or something on eBay and it's one of those real fancy ones with lots of features and they have no idea how it works, or whether all the features are actually working, someone can post a link to information about how to use that watch, providing you can't buy the watch on the outside site.
A link to a youtube video would be acceptable, providing there is no advertising in the video or the comments section about buying anything in the video. I have watched different informational videos about a product and at the end of the video is a voice over saying "to purchase this product, visit our website" with the website address showing at the end of the video. Even though it's an informational video, it's still advertising a product for sale, so not allowed.
I hope that helps clear things up for you.

joe, maybe I am reading this post by a moderator differently to you. The site that seems to occupy a lot of post space in recent weeks is allowed to be mentioned on these forums as it is not a commercial site, and mentioning it is not considered as advertising. It is an informational site, it does not advertise or sell anything in competition with eBay, and it is free to use it.
I am posting a screengrab of the whole post as I do not want anyone claiming that I am only posting a small portion that supports my post. Here's the whole of varia's post, and it is well worth another read joe.

joe, I think tippy and slr probably made the case along with the evidence very clear ( with varia's ruling on the subject) that your supposition was in fact incorrect.
Apologies to the mods for this continuing to be off-topic, but misinformation needs to be clarified.

My reference to you paint seller, was a joke. I also chose not to mention the name of the site, even though it's an eBay approved site, because I didn't really feel like some sort of lecture from you.
See, I omitted to say your name as requested 😉
