Not really. I would not have felt good selling it at an inflated price. I like eBay but transactions should be win/win.

Was it less expensive on another online outlet or in a B&M store?

ebay used to be the place to find bargains, but now it is just another online marketplace. The only bargains are from buying items at auction, from occasional sellers... and you need to know your limit and stop there lol!

OP,
I find the top designer products are invariably cheaper on Ebay, for example:
Versace china/dinnerware - bought brand new from Germany - the only place I saw that is reliable & genuine, and even with postage it was still less than Versace store in Sydney with their 70% off sale at the moment.
I probably shouldn't talk about prices on Ebay in general as I wouldn't have a clue about any of them, I don't buy much on Ebay.
Still, Ebay represents convenience to me - not how cheap (or not) it may be.
So does any other website store - but then again I'm the first to admit that anything that would't take my time away from working and partying/socialising for the rest of the time is a GREAT PRICE!
And, just about everyone I know - (like half of Australia) is just like me.
Cruising around the net, or shopping centres - comparing prices - and for what- something that may cost 30 bucks, or even 10 times as much - not for me.
And someone is just making a remark - sitting next to me:
"And where does this price comp. stop? Just when you think you got something at a great price, buy it - only to find two days later it's cheaper again, sometimes even from the same store!"

You're right to some extent. Price comparisons can go over the top.
My own philosophy is if it is a small item and I like it and want it, buy it when i see it.
If it is a larger item, then look at a couple of prices first.
Even on ebay, I often look at a couple of different sellers to get a feel for the sort of price range an item is going for. Then I read the ad and I don't always go with the cheapest. Online shopping can be convenient.
I think the real competition for ebay now must be coming from the daily deal sites and the online discount sections for a lot of shops.
Once upon a time, I used to look at some clothes brands on ebay, but now I tend to sign up for the company's direct email notifications of online sales.

Nowhere in eBay's terms and conditions of use do they claim that stuff is "cheaper" on the site. The fact that you "thought" this was the case is not sufficient reason to indirectly badmouth eBay.
At the end of the day, nobody is forcing you to buy stuff here. As with any purchase, you need to carry out your due diligence, and act accordingly.
Caveat emptor.

You've read the T&Cs?
That is surprising.
