Unable to use eBay checkout

Today I have had problems using Ebay checkout and paying via Paypal.  When I log into my paypal account, it redirects me to my account instead of putting my details up and completing checkout.  I looked up the "HELP" section, which said I could still pay from within my Paypal account, by selecting "send Money" then "Pay for Ebay items", well.... no such button exists... and then when I rang Paypal they say it has been removed.  No logical suggestion as to why my payment won't go through, had the same thing happen twice today, different Sellers, finally came back later on the first one and payment went straight through.  Silly me, thought the problem was fixed, bought something else from another seller,  same problem.  Came back later tried one more time, payment went straight through. I wonder if anyone else is having these problems.  I don't believe it is anything to do with my system.

I found someone else having the same problem. Might be worth having a read through:

Re: Unable to use eBay checkout

Thanks to those who replied.  I don't understand about it being Friday? it was Friday 13th though, not that I believe in that stuff!

I did read the other review before posting, but I didn't think it was the same problem, thought they just wanted to pay some other way and not with Paypal.  My problem was that instead of Ebay checkout completing my payment, after I logged into Paypal, it redirected me back to my Paypal account instead of the usual page with the "Confirm Payment" button. I'll go buy another cheap item today and see if it is fixed.  I get annoyed when I make enquiries and it is always suggested that my cache is full of cookies and needs clearing.  This is a job I do every time I disconnect from the internet, and yes I have a good secure system and don't go to dangerous websites, and no the seller is not dodgy as it has happened on two sales with different sellers. Could it possibly be that the other end is mucking with settings???? No-one will ever admit to that!   What is the constant obsession with changing things that work?  Everywhere and everything that you get used to, someone then decides to change it, not only is there potential for mucking it up, but we have to keep getting used to a new system, a new layout, or whatever.  It is no different in the real world with supermarkets constantly moving stuff, to the point that I leave half of my stuff unbought, because I get fed up looking for it. I wish they would leave things alone, once and for all, unless the change brings some great improvement.  Everyone I speak to feels the same way.

Re: Unable to use eBay checkout

The reference to it being Friday was made because Friday afternoon/evening is ebay maintenance time and some very strange things happen.   Just recenty there was a major hiccup and the whole site crashed worldwide.  It is never a good idea to count on anything working properly on Friday afternoon.

That's good to know.  The problem seems to have fixed itself now.
