Ebay changed my password because 'We have reason to believe that your eBay account has been used fraudulently without your permission' but nothing about my account is any different. No listings were put up, nothing was watched and nothing changed. What criteria do they go by to decide my account was used?

I wish they'd tell me what flagged it though! It's kind of creepy.

I have better one.My account was lock for my protection by USA team, as look like:
the account has been locked because there was a suspicious login detected. The block is placed to ensure that it wont be used on any fraudulent activities.
How nice simply moving using China website and recomanded to all of you getb rid of ebay

What would you prefer ? That Paypal didn't lock the account and let possibly fraudulent payments go through ?
And why is it eBay's problem ? They don't own Paypal and haven't been associated with them for many years now.
I wouldn't be trusting the Chinese websites to give you better protection either.

This thread is about an issue from 2 and a half years ago.
A lot of us don't speak Chinese, or want to buy goods manufactured in China unless they are for a reputable brand that ensures adequate QA, so a Chinese website is not necessarily appropriate

davewil, I'm currently trying to assure my father that buying a cheap oximeter on eBay from a Chinese seller is a very bad idea. Those cheap prices are dancing in front of his eyes ...
I'll buy the darned thing for him. (Not a Chinese eBay cheapie, obviously.) I absolutely won't take any risks with his health; it's going to be a Rossmax, and with previous experience of buying med products from an excellent shop, I am assured that the price will be reasonable but not ridiculously cheap.
... It's not that my father's a fool. He's not! Those unbranded goods manufactured in China are a menace.

I could not agree more.
Anecdotally, Australians are targetted because we value price over quality. I don't know if this is true, but I suspect there would be less Chinese selling cheap junk to Australia if it wasn't.
