Using PayPal balance to buy on iPhone eBay app?

I have a positive PayPal balance due to a few recent sales. Instead of transferring the balance to my bank account I want to use the money to make a purchase. I clicked the "make payment" button on the eBay item (I'm using the iPhone app) & clicked "view finding sources" but the balance isn't listed as an option, just the visa card & my bank account.

Is this a limitation of the app or something else?

it is a damn site more reliable and quicker to use for bidding on auctions than a desktop anyday B-)

If I were allowed to disagree with that statement I would but as someone doesn't let me have an opinion I will just smile at your post and move on.

Thanks. Still no joy so I popped over to the office & used the laptop...it worked so I am assuming it was to do with an app glitch. I will check for an update as I may not be running the latest incarnation of the apps.

Thanks again for the responses. If Ifret a reply with solution from PayPal I will post here in case the issue stumps someone else in future!

i also like to encourage - rather than discourage - any type of buying activity 😄

according to my inkfrog stats there has been a significant increase in the number of purchases that have come from mobile users compared to desktop - more than happy for trend to continue as they contribute to an increase in overall sales 🙂

I love my eBay app (PayPal too for that matter) but I have found a couple of issues. Nothing that would make medelete the apps though!

Its very handy to have access to eBay all the time & not just on the occasions that I'm at the office & with the computer!

You don't need to use the app, you can just type in the URL and view the site as you would on a computer.

That is what Bump meant, it is the app that screws things up, not the fact you are using a phone or tablet.

Its annoying because I really don't want to hit up the poor visa card again so close to Christmas want don't want to wait for an echeque to clear...

For future reference, if your Visa card in PayPal is the one you use for purchases, it would be linked to your Bank Account and should go through as an instant bank transfer not an echeque

I access ebay frequently from both phone and tablet but i won't use the app.

So am I.

I listed several items with BIN/Best Offer which showed up on the listing but when viewed on a smart phone or tablet it didn't show that best offer was a buying option.

So if it happens to the items I am listing then it probably happens to other sellers therefore if I look at a BIN I have to go to the full ebay site to check if Best Offer is available. I have found a few items with Best Offer that I would not have known about if I only used the app.

There are other problems with the app so to me it is a waste of time if I need to double check everything just because the app has some huge glitches.
