WHY is REMOVED selling items NOT in stock? Seems an ACCC issue.

For example:

REMOVED

Wednesday 02/09/2020 advising:

Unfortunately there is no stock of this item. Your refund will be processed shortly and this will be taken down from the ebay website .We apologise for any inconvenience caused.

Kind regards

Supercheap Auto "

But link remains, with item still selling receiving funds. Furthermore, you will see by clicking "sold" which is up to 100 orders. And at  REMOVED

And same seems anticipated for this item:

REMOVED

Where other buyers exceed 100 since 3/09/2020, clicking sold.

For instance:

REMOVED

I am not sure why ebay allows this?

Based on your responses, appears you can not actually help. Rather only ebay, who can not be sensibly contacted.

Right now nothing better than listening to a lie when you already know the truths.

Because this surely demonstrates accepting payments without a genuine intention then to supply.

Under the Australian Consumer Law, businesses must not accept payment for products or services if:

  • they do not intend to supply them
  • they intend to supply materially different products or services
  • they know, or should have known, they would not be able to supply the products or services within the timeframe indicated or if no timeframe was provided, within a reasonable time.

This incluces the pressure washers you opigned, and series of other items buyers are ruing and bitterly regretting about on supercheap auto's feedback/reviews.

One look at their atrocious feedback would have told you to avoid them like the plague.

Caveat Emptor.

This is what am seeking to determine.

As the worst thing about being lied to, is knowing a buyer wasn't worth the truth.

Most members here will say to avoid high-volume sellers with less than 99.5% feedback, unless you are prepared to have trouble with them.

Padi0409 that is a high rating. I thought with others in good hands with a seller with stores nationwide, regardless.

I am not sure why ebay allows this to continue?

And ebay cannot be contacted directly.

Yes they can, go to the link below and scroll to the bottom and use "chat with us" option.

https://www.ebay.com.au/help/home

But at the end of the day it's up to you to do your own research on sellers you intend to buy from.

paid0409- the chat is limited, and you can not proceed with this specific question.

Further, you can not telephone ebay 1800 322 928 as their voice message is automated too.

Similarly, the problem can not continue with she'll be right, cavet emptor retort. Unsure who ebay allows this.

If the suggestions I've made for you to avoid the pitfalls with buying on eBay are unacceptable to you, then just carry on as you were doing, but expect problems in the future if you can't or wont exercise due diligence in buying on-line.

In all walks of life Caveat Emptor is very relevant....................
