Did you mean:

Warranties, blacklist sellers list, App/addon available.

1- Is there a website or blacklist where you can add sellers that don't respond to warranty messages or ignor all warranty issues.

2- Is there an app/addon for say firefox or other that would allow a user to blacklist sellers so you don't accidently buy from them.

3- Another simple method would be for ebay to add a aftersales feedback that would be triggered say when you click on a warranty message to the seller. Since sellers especially the Chinese are so desperate for good feedback. This would allow a buyer to see the true value of a seller well after purchase and over time.

In Australia and other countries our hard earned rights are being erroded thanks to ebay and foreign sellers, yes ebay is protecting them. If such a blacklist, browser addon or feedback existed it may start to protect buyers and hurt both seller and ebays bottom dollar. Hence ebay may start enforcing their own policy as well as local laws. (YES I'M DREAMING!)

Somebodys pockets are well lined for I can't beleive that no government agency has ever done anything about it. A foreign company enabling paracitic foreign sellers to undermine all consumer rights with tricks and deception that everyone knows about except those who should do something about it.

Let me guess, you bought a phone from China / Hong Kong and it stopped working after 6 months?

Warranties and your legal rights are a difficult area, even within Australia & off ebay.

Getting some companies to properly comply with the warranty can be like pulling teeth.

What you're hoping to happen on ebay (sellers banned because of warranty issues) is probably not going to happen.

I know it sounds straight forward but there could be reasons why some manufacturers might knock back repairs under warranty (eg buyer misuse. For instance tupperware has a lifetime warranty but not if you melt an item by accident on the stove or run over it with the car.)

So what you're expecting is that ebay would step in and examine, case by case, each claim and counter claim. Maybe they should, but I'd almost guarantee they won't. Too much work to try to figure out the party at fault.

That being the case, you as a consumer have to look after your own interests. What i do is for anything of real value-electronics, cameras, phones, bigger items, I buy from companies that at least have an Australian presence. That way i know if something goes wrong, it isn't too hard to make a claim. For instance if you bought from the good guys on ebay or Myer, I'd say your warranty would have some validity.

Otherwise you're buying a pig in a poke. As for China, I think a lot of the sellers there are genuine and I've bought from there too, but never anything that needed a warranty. Your chances of having it honoured if things go wrong are low, it's too complicated.

Ebay is far from perfect, so knowing that, if you use it, it is best to work around its limitations. Warranties are a real area of concern on ebay-but not with every seller. Hard for us little people to change ebay, all we can do is change our buying habits to look after #1.

I'm not 100 percent sure that is true.  The seller is registered on eBay as being Sydney based. There are clearly provisions under Australian consumer law for warranties to be observed. If no warranties are enforceable then why offer them??  It is misleading.

If ebay was fair dinkum they would have an option for sellers to tick the box: "NO warranty is provided with this item"

Firstly for a warranty to be valid the seller must be registered in Australia - look at their feedback for country of registration NOT on the listing.

Secondly the Australian registered seller must also be a authorised seller/reseller of the goods.

Thirdly, for the most part warranties on eBay are worthless bits of type on a listing.

Fourthly, it's been answered in your other post (bumping another old thread) where you also show you have no practical knowledge of warranties.
