Sorry, this isn't related to an eBay purchase but I know you guys know everything so hope you don't mind me asking here😊
Back in November, I purchased an item online using PayPal and the item hasn't yet turned up (posted 21/11 with tracking). The item is apparently coming from USA (tracking confirms this). The tracking shows it stalled in Townsville on 19 December. I emailed the supplier and the tracking company just an hour ago asking for an update on the packages progress and surprisingly received a reply from both within about 15 minutes - both stating that the item is being re-sent.
Is it 'safe' to wait? I'm concerned that there is a time limit to getting a refund from PayPal for item not received. I checked on PayPal's website but couldn't see (probably not looking in the right place). How long can I wait before my right to claim a refund from PayPal expires?
I just feel a little uncomfortable about having such a prompt response from both the shipping agent and the supplier (probably just being a bit paranoid!) but you do hear about sellers stringing buyers out until it's too late.

You have 180 days from the date of transaction with Paypal.
Several months before you need to panic.
Noting that an INR with Paypal will fail as the seller can prove shipping.
Wait.

Thanks davewil1964.
I'll wait then😎
Would the INR fail if tracking shows item not delivered though?

Yes. With PayPal, the seller only has to prove the item was posted, not delivered.

ok, so my interpretation is that the seller must provide proof that item was posted and tracking must show item has been delivered.
Take screenshots of the tracking being stuck in QLD. And take screenshots of the quick responses from the supplier. You might need them to help your INR case down the track if the item doesn’t turn up.

Just to update you on this.........
The tracking on the supposed second package has never shown any activity. I contacted the seller again but the 'so sorry, please be patient' response didn't thrill me so after one more 'update tracking or else' message, I just now initiated a claim with PayPal for item not received.
PayPal's response was immediate.....they have refunded my payment 🤗

I think you made the right choice, amber.

Just a liittle one on PayPal.
I ordered a doggy toy - toothbrush - Medium - from LA.
Totally surprised to see it sent from LA - through China - hello - told them I was totally disappointed.
That which arrived was - Small - so asked what sizes were what - and told - yes I had been sent the wrong size - and a replacement was already sent - this was never received.
Opened a case in PP - giving all the details - emails regarding - yes wrong size admitted - replacement sent - never received.
Over a month - then contacted by PP - to say the seller would refund - if the first item was returned - they only gave an area to input - tracking for return item.
Finally the case was closed in favour of the seller - because I put in the tracking - NOWAY. lol
Got into a you aren't doing this to me mood - and contacted PP - why should I pay for return postage on an item - said to be wrong - etc etc etc.
The upshot - into my PP wallet - went $39+ au - to be used on any future purchase through PP.
I suppose the seller kept theirs - PP - paid out.

Who are you speaking to? You certainly aren't speaking to your seller, and I can't imagine that davewil has anything to ship to you either. If there is a problem, then you need to contact your seller directly.
