Hi all,
Is it just me or has the "ANY COUNTRY OR REGION" option been deleted in the item location field and replaced with Australia for a second time in the list at the very top. I generally search for a particular brand of audio equipment the world over and all I can do now is select an actual country.
Any Help ?
Cheers,
Marty

No, the option they mean was removed a little while ago. It was pretty handy but I guess not completely necessary. I thought I was the only one using it... ๐

You have to go into My eBay and then along the top bar is the word "Advanced", click on that and that opens up all your search options. Scroll down and you'll see the section "Location" and in the second box down you'll see "Located In". From there it will show all the differing countries and it used to give you the words "Any Country or Region".
What this option gave you is that you could see things even if they weren't available to Australia. But with this option you could at least contact the seller and maybe discuss the probability of making it available to us in Australia.
It seems that eBay are just trying to limit overseas purchases and make us all stay within our own countries in the long term.
Sadly it also looks like we're going to have to pay GST on overseas purchases soon if the winging retailers and governments have their way.
Cheers.

well that's it then I guess as its not just my machine that's not showing us that option. I used it all the time to find IMF Speakers around the world as they were exported far and wide from the UK back in the 1970~80's
Thanks for the confirmation.
Seems like eBay knows more about what we want than we do ourselves. As Always !

Have you tried using Saved Searches? Type your search (e.g. "IMF speakers" in Germany) and save it so eBay emails you when new matching items pop up. You can probably do that with a number of different countries.

Thanks for that suggestion, I guess that would work but honestly its the hard way around in my oppinion.
Sometimes I wish eBay would just leave things alone instead of "F#%$*ing" around with things that have absolutely no advantage whatsoever to them and just makes things harder for potential buyers.
The thing is some of us search for items that are not that common and are prepared to buy from anywhere in the world to obtain that item. We are not in the USA where they have so many arrogant people that will not sell outside the US. We are quite an easy going lot here in Australia.
Just my rant for today I guess
