What should I do?

I have purchased a book and paid for it the same day, 4/8, and have waited in vain for it to arrive. Today I sent the seller an email asking what the status of the order was, trying not to sound pushy. I have just received a reply stating, "I have not sent it yet."

Just that. No explanation or mention of when he might send it. I am a bit taken aback, by this. I am concerned that if I leave it to drag on too longer I will just lose my money. Should I email back and ask just when he plans to send it, or is there a more appropriate response. I don't want to be unfair, but neither do I wish to lose my money. Any advice would be much appreciated.

Re: What should I do?

I would message him once more:  "i can see that you have re-listed my book" and then open the PP dispute immediately.

I think it is pretty obvious that he is dropshipping and the books are taking longer to arrive than he has estimated.

The relisting means nothing...no doubt the supplier has plenty of the book.

Of-course it does not, but he said he mislaid the book LOL

Re: What should I do?

If you want the items, you could only message the seller when they would send the items out.Or refund to you!

Then see if they would response you.

Re: What should I do?

More than 2,500 feedback and the OP doesn't think to open a dispute after a couple of weeks or immediately after being told the seller has 'lost' it??????????????????????
