Could anyone elucidate for me, why a seller lists an item that is available in more than one format commercially, not list what format they are selling.
For clarification item is a PC game that can be purchased hard copy retail or online through game server called "Steam". The seller does not differentiate or list actually what buyer will receive.
They are charging a delivery fee which would indicate hard copy and a stock photo of same. However as an experienced buyer I know that unless stated pictures are for reference only.
You may say contact the seller. Tried that they do not accept questions "due to a high volume of enquiries".
So I am left with an item I am interested in , but cannot contact seller to query details missing in listing.
Ebays useless preformatted/ category system is useless as this enquiry does not fit within any of their query structure.
Any ideas?

I would take the lack of response or actually refusal to respond to mean that the item will be an electronic transfer or a link to a Game Website etc . Neither of which would be covered by PayPal and will infrindge the Listing Guidelines.
Move on and buy from another seller .

Jerry...that would be a logical and normal conclusion. However the circumstances that prevented me from that progression are. that the seller has rating 99.8% over 66000 and actually lists item with a postage fee.
My quandry is that it would be acceptable purchase and postage if item is a hard copy.
And because there is that other "Steam Gift" possibility in existence that prompts me to want to conatct seller for clarification.
Therein is my problem.
And since the seller is an overseas seller, telephone contact is out too.

If it is an overseas seller it could well be a digital delivery item as that does not breach the rules of the US site...it is only in Australia that it is not allowed.
But having said that, you have no paypal protection for digital delivery items anyway.

Ebay UK does not allow digital sales, either and on ebay.com, they have to be listed in the classifieds section.
