With the time lost and price of petrol these days I have to know as I buy and sell furniture. I am tired of asking question re location, so now I am discounting sellers when I don't know their suburb.
cheers

I am not sure that is able to be changed. In my addresses I have my suburb and postcode however the item location comes up as a vague description of location (it used to show suburb). Most wouldn't think to write it in the listing.

Sellers can be as specific as they like - I include the suburb, city and state in all of mine - but it's up to the individual and I know that many prefer not to be too specific so they can control who they give the information to.
Even with supplying my suburb, I still get heaps of emails asking where I am because a lot of people don't read all the details.
Cheers,
Marina.

How and where do you change the item location from?
Ok I think if you create a listing via Turbo lister the item location automatically comes up as your postcode only, perhaps this is why some sellers location is not as detailed as others?

Totally agree.
I often read ads that say post or pick up available.
But then they don't name the suburb.
I too get sick of having to ask, " what suburb of Melbourne are you from?"
It is madness not to specifically list the location when you are trying to sell bigger items such as furniture!

I just list with eBay, no turbolister etc, and you definitely can change the listing location and make it as detailed as you like. ie town, city.state.country.
i think it's called "change listing location"

what would be really cool with this is if the suburb could be put in the heading so that it showed up in the title.
eg, the other day I was looking for those really old singer sewing machine cabinets, and there were sooo many, but i had to open heaps and heaps to see which ones were near me.
Gave up after a page or so.

It is a problem in Turbo Lister
.
In TL under โPostage Optionsโ โ โLocationsโ โ there is an option for the postcode . but if I put in my postcode the location comes up as โSydneyโ
.
Then there is an option for โLocation displayโ where you can put in a more specific location . BUT . it says โNot Recommendedโ
.
In the 10 years I have been using TL . they have never been able to get the postage section right . it just seems a little too complicated for them

If the ebay system can't be made to list the location, I think sellers should add it to their spiel in the actual ad.
