Why do sellers say they are in Australia ,when they are based in China /

I have come across this a lot while recently looking for a car reversing camera .Looking at where the item will come from IE Sydney NSW .check out the seller and they are nearly all based in China .So were is Your item acually coming from .

Reading a lot of the feedback postage times seem to be abissmal. Is that because the item is coming from China and then being posted here in Australia to the buyer??

And the pictures look great, description sounds great but is usually a load of rubbish.

Also no warranty. Even if they say they give warranty, you are not going to pay a small fortune to post back to China via trackable means.

I have also noticed the amount of negative feedback they get ,and if you look at different sellers their reply to negative feedback is very very  similar.

Also, I bet they are not paying the same comission to Ebay that we small operators are coughing up. I don't know the figure but I would be certain it is less than than the rest of us, due to the huge volumes of sales. There is no way the Chinese would pay 10% on their huge sales numbers. It just makes it an even more uneven playing field. No wonder Aussie sellers are saying how quiet things are at the moment. The Chinese sellers are a mile in front from the start., with the Aussie sellers just left with the scaps, or the buyer who needs it ''yesterday" and cant wait.

Simple answer:

Because schmucks like us buy from them in the belief we are not only getting a bargain but that it will arrive in a reasonable time. Then when you've hung on for 4 weeks and still not received it and realise it's coming from China it's too late to change anything and do you just keep waiting.

That's why.

Is it right? No.
Is it ever going to change? No.
Is it reality? Yep.
