Why havr I received a mrssage to say unable to leave Feedback,(item does not exist / F/B left)

I have neither left Feedback nor has the item vanished into the ether, it arrived today. My question is why has eBay seen fit to tell me I cannot leave Feedback because the item does not exist or I have already left Feedback ?

It is Friday and ebay does maintenance.

Just try again later or even tomorrow.

It is not unusual for that message to appear even if it is not Friday.  It is not hard to wait a while and try again.
