Why is impossible to place bids or buy items listed in USA with global shipping program

Sellers in the USA who use global shipping program are losing out on international bids because buyers outside USA cannot place bids because of error msg. Also items to Australia do not attract import duties/taxes unless item+post is over $1000. Global shipping STINKS. Bad for sellers as items sell for less because it loses international bid interest. Am I alone on this issue as ebay think its great or is it another money spinner for them.?????

if you are keen on an item with the silly GSP showing just message the seller and ask if they will ship USPS and get them to send an invoice to reflect that. Most are willing to do so.

Most but not all...unfortunately.

I saw something I wanted but the GSP cost was double USPS 1st Class Int and could potentially be triple what the item cost (it wasn't a BIN but I know what the item generally goes for).  The seller said no.  I watched the auction....and no one bought it.  It still hasn't sold.

Most frustrating.

If an item does not attract import dutie then the GSP says so....it states $0.00 duty payable.

The GSP has it's faults but it does not charge duty if it is not applicable to your item.

What you are paying for are the ridiculous charges levied by Pitney Bowes to process the import documents and ship by FedEx couriers.
