Winning bidder blames friend

Hi all, winning bidder wants to cancel the sale as a freind was mistakenly using ther account.  I think that a 5 day auction listing is time enough to pick up on any issues such as this poor excuse. I would think someone wanted the item, and should make a bad situation good by paying the funds to the account owner, if this really did happen in the first place. On checking the buyers account, there are several non pays and no contact reply listed in the positive feedback score. On seeing this, I will be going hard at this one. They have a 107 score, all listed as positive, until you read the comments. 100% positive feedback means ziltch  apparently.

If some people think bidding is a game, well they are about to find out different.

Good morning.

Yes buyer's feedback is always 100% as sellers are only able to leave positive or none at all.

I would suggest that you do not follow the lead of the other sellers who left false positives.

Quite a pointless exercise trying to force a poor buyer to pay or "go hard at this one"

After four days of no payment open a NPB CASE & close four days later to recoup your FVF.

Then place their ID on your Blocked Bidder/Buyer List.

The buyer will receive a strike so set your preferences to block anyone with two or more unpaid item strikes.

If all sellers followed eBay procedures then these non payers would be culled.

All info for the above is available from the Site Map at the bottom of any page.

Ignore them, block them and report them for non-payment as soon as ebay allows. Obviously anoter time wasting fibber with nothing better to do with their day than place fake bids

It would be so tempting to wait 4 days and open a dispute, then when the buyer complains, just tell them "I'm sorry, my two year old accidentally clicked the Item Unpaid link, just ignore it and it will close in a few days".  Oooh....that is not like me, I must need a second cup of coffee, lol.

Cheers,

Penny

The meteor hit is genius, who wouldn't believe that. I am still living in hope of a buyer saying the goldfish did it!

This is a good response.

Dear buyer

I am sorry you have lost control over your account and somebody else has used it. In case you didn't know how to handle it I have reported your account to ebay as having been hi-jacked, I am sure they will be in touch soon to sort it out and get you back in control.

Your ever helpful seller.

Then please do the unpaid item dispute, not only does it ensure that if they have done it more than once they will be blocked from most accounts but it means they (or their friend) cannot leave you a neg or trash your DSRs.

Even if the friend mistakenly used their account, you would assume the friend wanted the item and could get the mate to pay then reimburse them.

So what you are really being told is the 'friend' has had a change of mind.

It's irrelevant anway. Someone bid & the person who owns the account is not paying. Don't give yourself ulcers worrying about payback or even bothering to answer their message. As others have said, the best payback is an unpaid item dispute to give them a strike.

Then block them. Unfortunately you won't get to see karma, but if they do collect a couple of unpaid item strikes, karma will hit where it hurts most-they won't be able to bid on quite a few ebay listings.Smiley Happy
