The lizard comment may indicate something more sinister.
If this item doesn't arrive by [deadline], this lizard will die! Painfully! I will see to it myself... Mwa ha ha ha ha ha ha!
(Somehow "lizard" doesn't seem as effective in this context as "kitten".)

Maybe that might add some extra gravity and heighten the threat, as humans are quite protective of tiny things, and sometimes more empathetic towards mythical creatures than real ones (it's all the movies with anthropomorphic dragons, perhaps).
Also seems more villain-y to refer to a lizard as a dragon (they do seem to like to exaggerate for dramatic effect ).
Edited to add: of course, I meant to say - that would be awful, which is more important than providing tips to villains on the effectiveness of threats.

The comment is "my lizard", so it must be referring to the feedback-giver's lizard.
