Hi, i have only just discovered these discussion boards (great idea btw). I was wanting some advice please. I bought an item of clothing and received it at the end of May. It was very poor quality and damaged. I contacted seller who agreed to refund after i had sent photos as proof. Many msgs later i was given the excuse that she has been unwell etc so i gave plenty of time. Stupidly i didnt put in a disput in time as they had already agreed to a refund. This seller (yes i am aware we cant name on here) is now active again and wont answer my messages. Is there a fair trading number i can report this to or have i lost my $ for good? Any advice is welcome, thank you 🙂

Unless the seller is an Australian registered business then Fair Trading cannot help you.
Yes, you have lost your money unless you funded your paypal payment with a credit or Visa debit card....you can approach your bank about a chargeback. But the banks do have time limits on this, some of them quite short, so I would recommend doing it soon.

Thank you for your reply, much appreciated, i will look into the bank thing. Pretty sure my $ wont be returned but was just thought id ask anyway. Wish there was a way to warn others, its frustrating. This is an australian seller but not sure how i go about finding out if they are registered ?

If the seller is the one that you left follow up feedback for, then this seller is no hobby seller, their activity reflects business activity.
If they are not a registered business, they should be.
IMO its very much worth contacting your fair trading department to get their advice.

I was thinking the same thing. I would not be surprised in the slightest if they have other IDs. It is a shame that you missed the opportunity to leave feedback Mandee, but they already have enough red and grey dots to put future customers off this account.

I noticed that Foxette, but if they are well enough to sell off their stock then they are well enough to refund or at least contact their unhappy buyers.

I noticed that ill health part too but they have both given and received feedback since my purchase so are obviously well enough to do that but not deal with my issue unfortunately 😕 I feel bad for leaving a negative feedback response but im annoyed too because they are clearly just ignoring me. Thanks for advice all, its really nice to see helpful friendly people on here ;), i will follow this up more
