I bought somthing on ebay electronics and it said free shipping. Total with shipping said 30$. I missed the delivery but a note was left and it said need to pay postage. The remainder is 22.70? I call usps to ask what does this mean. They said the seller never paid for shipping and that the addresseee has to pay the shipping when received. How can this occur if it says free shipping in invoice online. IS this a scam and how to avoid this?

might be an idea to ask on the USA boards as you have asked on the Australian boards.

Try logging into the US boards. They would know more about US postage than us in Australia.
Here, the sender generally gets charged for underpaid postage, but it could be different in the US where you are.
Edit: Snap again, Sir Sales
