US Pacific time is 16 (maybe 15 as we have gone back an hour, but then they might have gone forward an hour) hours behind us.
My suggestion would be to log into eBay US if you're looking at a US auction. You get eBay proof of delivery, not just posting, protection. And will generally get to pay the extra GSP shipping rates for the seller's protection.
But I don't do auctions.

can you post the listing title here so we can take a look for ourselves? I don't see the problem you describe, unless I open an item in a second tab and don't look at it for 4 minutes. The countdown timer only applies near the end of an auction for me, not 12 hours out!

just bid your maximum early and forget about the time remaining being different on each site.
If your maximum is the high bid at the end you will win.

it is showing me as being just over 13 hours left.
Added it to my watch list and it is showing the exact same amount of time left as when I open the item on eBay.au or eBay.com
I can't see any difference in the time remaining no matter how I look at the item.

Yes, 11 hours + here....nearly 12 hours, not minutes.
