I was using JBidwatcher for a while now for auctions while sleeping. Sadly the program doesn't work anymore because of the eBay "Catcha" login.
Not sure if online services are affected by this and would be interested for the names of one's that do work in Australia.
As far as I know ALL of the sniping programs you could install on a PC are now obsolete?

I think the only restriction is that you can't retract a bid with less than 12 hours to go. I think the seller needs to remove them in that instance. I could be wrong though, it's been years since I retracted a bid (I bid $5000 instead of $50.00). There may be no restrictions at all now for all I know.
Edit: Just checked the help page and if there is more than 12 hours to go you can retract all your bids. If there is less than 12 hours to go you can retract your last bid, but only if it was placed in the last hour.

I don't think it has to do with the sniping program. You have to enter the catcha when you would have to enter it if you used your browser (for security reasons). Usually if you fix it in your browser it will then also work in your sniping program.
It once happened to me too because I had changed some settings.
After I fixed the catcha in the browser it also worked in my sniping program (the same as yours, although I also use Gixen). It is not always immediate though.
