eBay cancelled/withdrew a "Buy it now" listing after I had bid and paid for the item via PayPal

I bid on an item and paid for it via PayPal Express Checkout. An hour later eBay advised me that they had withdrawn this item and that if I had already paid for the item via PayPal then, since PayPal had been informed of the situation, that they would automatically refund my money. This has not been the case! How do I get my money back? There are no provisiopns that I can see that allow for these circumstances. At present I am $245 out of pocket. The seller is no longer a registered user.

No need to be so rude.....I am not being condescending, just trying to help you get your refund as soon as possible.  If you want to play oneupmanship  I have been using paypal since well before it was acquired by ebay and called paypal and never have you been able to get a refund without going through the dispute process.

If you have opened a dispute and escalated to a claim you will be have to wait 10 days while ebay gives the seller time to "defend" the claim by proving postage.  Sometimes, and only sometimes, you can circumvent the waiting period by ringing paypal and explaining that the seller is no longer on ebay.  This does not always work as the seller can still deal with paypal even if they cannot be contacted through ebay.

If the 10 days is up and there has been no response from the seller you can ring paypal and point it out to them....you will probably have the refund processed while you are on the phone.
