I'm outraged by eBay since a policy came in about people making money from Shipping fee's (i don't do it), and im being slugged with eBay fee's on payment for postage and eBay is taking a percentage out of the postage fee, i sold an item worth $500 ebay took $49.50 from the sale, post was about $95 something and eBay took $12 out of it. that defeats the purpose of bring in the policy for "Making money of shipping" eBay is breaking thier own rules, im one more step closer to not using it at all and reccommending others to stick clear, It's a scam for what they are doing.
I was never notified about this EVER!...all to find out when i went to pay for my Invoice.
There need's to be a yearly fee we can pay that's cheap for use people who are selling mostly 2nd hand stuff and some brand new stuff that doesn't cost an arm and a leg.
I know of one site where you pay $100 AUD for 1 year and you can list as much stuff as you can $100 per year x 50k people = 5 Million
If they could bring something out like this maybe i'll relist stuff again, but if this ends up deleted well, then i will know eBay doesn't care about it's customers they only care about MONEY.

The final value fee on postage is not new and you obviously do not read the ebay notifications as everyone has had plenty of notice about it.There have been plenty of complaints on the boards as well.

This is absolutely wrong practice and should be outlawed by the Ombudsman. After all, most sellers only charge the net cost for postage, and why should ebay have their hand out. If anything, claim a kickback from Aust post, for all the parcels generated by Ebay.
I can vouch for their parcel traffic, as I have a relative who is a manager for parcels in a large NSW city, and the parcel section is going to new larger premises to cope with the extra workload, so dont tell me that they are doing it tough. The cost charged by most sellers is inline with everyone else, otherwise the buyer will simply keep looking at other options. Most sellers are just glad to make a sale these days, witout loading the postage up. We should not be slugged for a share of something we made no profit on in the first place. Make noises about this, or it will stay untouched.

Noises have been made to the ACCC and members of Parliament. 12 months ago, when this came in. Whilst it is unconscionable if eBay have nothing to do with providing postage, it is legal as eBay DO provide a (albeit limited) postage service. Which is approximately 10% cheaper than the equivalent AP service.

I'm going to take a wild guess and say that you haven't heard of the MBG either.
Better go to the announcements link on your My eBay page and do some catching up (see screengrab below).
You think the fee-on-postage is bad, as a seller, wait until you read about eBay's Money Back Guarantee! A quick look around the Selling discussion boards will also clue you in.

For years people have been complaining on the boards that they do not get things that US seller get and now that ebay have obliged by charging fees on postage which has happened in the US for a long time people come and complain.
If you want parity with other sites you cannot cherrypick which things you want and which you don't.

If they get enough complaints, or even a decent single complaint, made and supported properly, they will act on it. I had a Telstra issue also, and got a refund, plus the next years business fees for free as compensation.
