how do you get your money back from a seller that fails to deliver and doesn't respond to email?

well, if you haven't recieved your item that you paid for... in reasonable time

say it should take seven days for the PO to deliver, and if it exceeds that..

..open an item not recieved dispute through paypal buyer protection for a charge back {if you paid via DD, there's not much hope for ya if the seller won't send the item}

Signatures suck.

yes, what Joz said.

The filing of a dispute for non delivey of the item usually gets their attention. And if they continue to ignore, then at the end of the time allowed, paypal will garnish their account and refund you your money.

While it's a great protection for buyers, this can also be abused and as such, can be a nightmare for sellers.

Step one.  Don't buy online.

Step two.  Go into a shop and buy your goods so that you can inspect them.

Step three.  Buy them.  Australian receipt.  Australian warranty.

This is where I think that ebay has really let us down.  It was pretty good in the old garage days but now it's all just cheap junk and you don't even know if the mail system will let you down.  It's even worse for sellers having to pay for tracking.

Postage times take longer in the 'silly season', allow extra for that globally.

If seller has not responded within 7 days - allow for 'life' issues at their end I suggest open a dispute thru PayPal.....then communicate with seller through PPal messages. If no joy/satisfaction you have several weeks in which to escalate to a PayPal claim.

Always give the seller the benefit of the doubt, a week to respond and keep your comms pleasant and amicable there's no excuse for being demanding or rude. Good luck and wish you well.....an experienced buyerSmiley Happy

OP - you can  pull the seller details from eBay, you can phone them and find out what is going on.

If it is the petcare item, and it has been over 3-4 weeks since you paid I would open INR now, they are Aus based so should have arrived.

What you say is partly true. I like the idea of going into the shop and buying the item in a "here's the cash for my item" type of transaction. You can inspect the item and also walk out with it in your possession. However, the shopping experience doesn't always go like that. I was after a pair of Puma shoes recently and went into the Parramatta Rebel store. I saw about 5 types of Puma shoes. I left with nothing and checked some online shoe stores (o'seas) and saw as many as 47 different types of Puma shoes. Sometimes the customer is forced to abandon the traditional method of buying and resort to online buying.
