Sellers can open an unpaid item case 4 days after winning item, and then you have another 4 days to pay for the item.

Check the sellers Payment Terms, usually they are stated clearly. If not quite often the rule of thumb is payment in five days. However as stated the seller can open an unpaid item dispute after 4 days. Best suggestion is to communicate with your seller to eliminate any confusion.

Payment should be made as quickly as possible. The longer you drag it out the less inclined a seller is to leave really good feedback and if it goes into a NPB case, you may not get feedback at all. So keep everything sweet and pay quickly.

If you are not going to be able to pay straight away it is better to email the seller and say payment will be made in 2, 3 or 4 days.
If it is going to be longer than that you should email them before bidding or purchasing a BIN to ask if a longer period is OK.

Agree, contact is the only saving grace but sadly very few will bother.

eBay rules allow you 4 days to pay, regardless of what sellers terms may say. However, DO ensure you pay promptly. And dont worry, a seller CAN NOT leave anything other than POSITIVE feedback. A Positive feedback with negative undertones is reportable to eBay.
