This is the third dead thread that you've dragged up to ask unanswerable questions.
Is there any credible reason for that? Do you think asking the same question over and over again will result in a different answer?
The credible reason is that eBay decided many years ago to discontinue those options.

Does anyone have any credible reason why a site setup to sell items... Closed its Avenue for those sellers to be connected with people who actually want to buy their items.
I'm referring of course to the mycollections and the wanted sections.
As much as buyers want to see what items might fit thit their wish list, I'd imagine sellers would also like to see how many consumers are after a particular item they might sell or if any demand is present for items they have not yet listed.
Hi, good question actuallly! Sorry I can't answer that. I do remember when the "Wanted" section was there. Then one day it wasn't.
You've made some very good points and I do hope that someone who cares and knows will be able to answer that.
I do care myself but I'd rather someone who has a bit more of an idea about this comes and tries to answer.

Anecdotally members who posted there were getting swamped with spam from sellers with unrelated items, they complained to eBay and eBay shut down the topic.

OK, that seems like one reason. I can see that being an issue. Interesting.

Simple - A "wanted" section best functions like classifieds.
i.e. It's member to member contact to faciliate a sale, easily without the involvement of an ebay listing and therefore no commission.
A lot of features have come and gone over the years - if they go, there are typically 2 main reasons: no one's using it, or too many are abusing it. If it's making enough money to keep it around regardless, then it will generally stay.
There's occasionally other reasons involved, but they are for special cases involving some of their more.... unique ideas, such as the dating site extension that was here circa late 2000's. I mean, could you imagine eBay listings, but for people, in a post-MBG world?

Date failed to give chocolate and only offered a bouquet of a few half-broken dandelions. Stank of garlic and had more missing teeth than a pugilist who's lost every match. Laughed inappropriately like a sick horse. SNAD. Want my money back.
