I recently won multiple items from the same seller.
Prior to bidding on the multiple auction I enquired about combined post:
"I am interested in a number of your auctions do you combine post?" Answer was "Absolutely, cheers"
Now seller has combined 2 of the 7 auctions ONLY and is refusing to combine the rest. I am an experienced seller and am fully aware that the amount of items i have bought would comfortably fit in a $13.40 prepaid sachet and be well under the 3kg limit. Seller is charging $56 post!!!!
Now if I hadn't asked about combine post I can understand this but because I specifically asked do they combine post and they said absolutely I am feeling overcharged by quite a bit.
Their excuse is they have already bought the $8.35 bags and the items were listed low. This was only mentioned after I enquired as to why the postage had not yet been combined.
Any advice on this?

Politely ask them to buy a 3kg Bag and use the other one some other time. Cant see any problem with that. ๐

Thanks, I have asked that and they are refusing to do so. I also suggested to use 2 of the 500g ones if they fit and I would pay $16.70. But I don't want to pay $56 when I know it will fit in a 3kg bag and I asked before bidding.

So, they're saying they're going to send 5 individual packages? o_O Otherwise, that wouldn't make any sense (it doesn't make much economic sense anyway, unless they're never planning to sell again, but I digress...)
The main problem here is that asking about combined postage is one thing, asking for a quote is quite another - it's a technicality, I know, and I'm not saying the seller is being fair or reasonable, but I don't think there is a lot eBay could or would do, as how the seller opts to send the items isn't of much interest, and as a general rule they won't interfere or impose consequences if the individual P&H prices aren't excessive.
EDIT: I see it's been sorted already - good to see.

You may have asked about combined post, but did you ask if this meant a reduction in postage price, and did you specify for what products you wanted the postage combined on? Has he combined the post on the item from which you asked the question?
Did he say for how many products he would combine postage?
I doubt eBay will do anything to force him to combine postage in the manner you require - it really is up to the seller to decide how and when they will combine postage.
In saying that, I understand what you are saying and undoubtedly made the same assumptions as yourself, but... I do think this guy may be thinking about this transaction in a different manner to what you are and to what logical good customer service would entail.
IMO - you need to pay separately, the prices he has stated, and then if he doesn't send in the manner you have paid for, that is when you have the potential to raise a dispute.
Some people can go their whole lives and never really live for a single minute.

That's good news busybeetge. It doesn't make sense to upset your customers in that way. It would hardly have been worth if for the seven feedback I would have given them.
