Please can somebody help me in relation to this problem
I purchased a telephone set, went to pay for it straight away through paypal and was informed that the sellers account was closed and I couldnt pay for them. I contacted the seller and informed him of what had taken place and requested that he cancell the sale as it was my intentions to purchase from onother seller the same product.
I did this and didnt worry about the first sale, a few days later I received an email from the original seller informing me that he had fixed up the problem with paypal if I hadnt purchased from the second seller. I replied thanking him for his email but that as I had said before to him, no I wanted to cancell the deal as I had purchased from another seller.
He informed me that all was good, he requested that I go in and complete the cancel transaction information, ebay would then contact him and he has no problems of withdrawing and cancelling the deal.
I never though anymore about it as we had agreed to cancel the deal, then today I receive a NON PAYMENT DISPUTE, opened by E-Bay telling me to pay for the items forthwith.
I have informed E-Bay Customer support originally of the problem and didnt think anymore about it,
What do I do from here, the seller is not interested in a non payment dispute, he didnt ask for it, im not interested because I didnt ask for it but apparently E-Bay is...........WHY, can anybody help me get this resolved please

eBay did not open a non payment dispute against you
Ring them back, let them read your messages etc, explain what has transpired and they will probably be able to help you.

Did you receive the Mutual Cancellation request from the seller ? If so did you agree to it ?
If the answer to either of those is no, then the tansaction is still open and the seller needs it closed.
You can answer the paypal dispute by advising that a safe payment option was not available to you at the time of purchase.
They may accept this, not too sure.

If you have not agreed to a Mutul Cancellation which the seller should have sent to you. yhen the only way a seller has to recoup their fees is by opening a Non Payment Dispute.
