The item was for a DS Game (251358458191) and I was the winning bidder and I do know what shilling is, I felt that this sale was suspicious and simply wanted information on what procedures I could follow to ensure that the item I purchased in good faith had not been marked up by the seller.

There are 8 bidders on that item, placing 13 bids. That does not look like one bidder constantly upping the bidding.
Shill bidding is much more likely when there are only 1 or 2 bidders and the item looks like stalling at a low price.
If you are really concerned that shill bidding has taken place you can report it to ebay. They will take action of they can prove a connection between the seller and one of the bidders.
