Here is a heads up for those in Australia wanting to buy in the U.S , . Caution. If your seller uses Ebays Global Shipping you may not get your item. I am a Military collector , I have had 2 purchases refused delivery , not able to leave the U.S . Ordinarily these items would not be a problem at all with standard post and customs, no issue with Australian customs either. I pay my duty on them all good. The problem is that Ebays global shipping gets the item reads the declaration and if it sounds scary they refuse to send it.
This causes issue for me as I do not know what happens with any refund , I have not been notified of my last refusal to send I have only found out by checking the tracking.
The item that has been refused exit of U.S is a piece of leather. It is a Bayonet frog , not a bayonet , no not a bayonet . It is a piece of leather that is like a pouch that slips onto a belt and the scabbard of a bayonet would sit within it. No not the scabbard or bayonet just the leather frog. worth $130.00 aud plus $40 aud shipping plus taxes. Look up the item WW2 Arisaka Bayonet Leather FROG, make sure you are looking at the Leather frog not bayonet or scabbard just the leather frog I know some people dislike what I collect but this is living history.
Anyway reconsider buying from the U.S on ebay and particularly sellers using ebays global shipping. I have been buying from the U.S and Globally for many many years but it looks like that now finished for me, well certainly on ebay I will buy privately but avoid EBAY and its Ebay Global Shipping.
Please look up what the item is , I do not condone war and its affects, myself ( Ares) and many and I mean many of my family have served Australia, from WW1 WW2 Korean War, Vietnam War Iraq and Afghanistan . The items I buy you can find in the Australian War Memorial in Canberra and some bricks and mortar sellers in Oz if available. thanks for taking the time to read this.

As I see it, it's nothing to do with militaria.
The bots have simply picked up on the word FROG and that's the end of the matter as the importation of animals

Bots or no bots militaria or not, human intervention at some stage has to take place or it is obviously like everything else on ebay Lights on but nobdys home.

Maybe ask your sellers to opt out of the GSP and make the listing with USPS postage?
Some may agree, but some may not like giving up their seller protection with the GSP.
Some may not even know that ebay opted them in, and think they don't post overseas.
To opt out of the GSP, USA sellers have to go into -
(My ebay Summary page)
Account > site preferences > shipping preferences > offer the Global shipping Program > edit > no

I am flawed a further convo online with ebay, I have been refunded. I take back a few words said under my breath. This will be refunded via paypal. Thanks ebay. just got to work on the bots throwing away perfectly good and legal, exportable items. Especially when it takes someone six months to obtain one.
Regardless, thanks ebay/paypal you floored me๐

bigdazzler, for future purchases of this sort, you would do much better to set up an account with a parcel forwarding company, and having items that you suspect might fall afoul of Pitney and Bowes' ridiculous restrictions sent to your US address. The parcel forwarder can then forward the parcel to you after your payment to them.
FYI: Pitney & Bowes are the logistics company who have partnered with eBay to form this Global Shipping Program.
It's also worth contacting the forwarding company beforehand, via chap or email, to explain what it is that you're purchasing... just to make certain that it won't be considered prohibited. Just to be on the safe side.
