I still think with the amout of listings available the chances are small. Plus all they need to do is start a new ID or use someones elses.

And by blocking, the chances are reduced even more.

Maybe someone who is dead-set on buying for whatever reason might circumvent a block, but not everyone will.

I tend to block the worst offenders that crop up here (i.e. not usually the ones who are ticked off about something the seller did that is really not the best way for the seller to have handled it anyway, and are having a mild overreaction, but definitely the ones who have exhibited behaviour I don't want anywhere near my shop, lying, theft, ridiculous reasons for leaving tons of negs etc).

I don't believe that it's saved me a lot of hassles, in fact I'm prepared to believe it's saved me from nothing at all since it's entirely possible those buyers would never even visit my store, let alone attempt to buy, but it doesn't cost anything except a few seconds to add a name to a list, so I'd rather spend that few seconds on increasing my chances of never having to deal with someone, than perhaps one day spend the kind of time I know has to be spent on a problematic transaction.

yes sorry wrote my original post wrong , it was Tuesday last week & told Thursday this week , i appreciate your help , where the 2 other " Sellers " want to have a crack , Will gladly check out your shop , And i have 100 % feedback

If what you wrote is true and you bought on a Tues and it was not posted for 9 days, till the Thursday week, then I do think that is unacceptable for most ebay products these days. There would be exceptions, maybe customised products, but on the whole, for run of the mill stuff, I think most of your average, suburban based buyers have an expectation that things will often be arriving within 9 days, not just being posted.

So you'd have a right to mention the slow postage in your feedback.

If you bought Tuesday night and it was posted Thur of the same week though, that would be perfectly acceptable. The problem of course is that after it is posted, you then have a few days with it in transit with Aust Post, which can't be helped.

Sometimes when you're really hanging out for a part or an item, it is just better to go to a bricks & mortar shop, for sure. I've done that & sometimes it hurts when you know you could get eg 50 for $15 on ebay and you're paying $1.50 for one in a real shop, but sometimes the time saving is crucial.

As for having to wait 7 days to give feedback, those 7 days will pass quickly so just leave whatever you wish to write then. In the scheme of life, it won't make a huge difference.
