mobile phone sold without charger

I'm probably being dumb but I bought a '5month old' phone which was being replaced by a different brand new model phone, the ad had all the info provided by the manufacturer.  'silly me' thought that the phone would come with a charger and possibly instructions.

ah, it didn't.  So, after finding someone with same phone, I charged it, and find it doesn't work.  Have launched a dispute, but seller says they didn't say a charger was included.  That it worked before it was sent and it was VERY WELL PACKED.  The packaging was one layer of bubble wrap in an express bag (I did pay for registered mail but apparently they forgot that)

Am I just stupid or was it a reasonable thing to expect it to come with some accessories of some sort?

The listing doesn't say anything about any accessories being included-just says great condition.

You'll need to return to seller via TRACKABLE post with insurance to the address Paypal tells you to.As seller is being unhelpful,escalate your Paypal dispute to a claim now.

The seller shouldn't have posted in an express satchel as against airline regulations & they also had no Paypal protection if you had of claimed item not received.

Unfortunately, there was no address for return, or I would have done so, the claim has been escalated by vendor as they point out they did not advise that the phone came with a charger.

I now await instruction from PayPal. 

This is why I was posting the question asking if it was reasonable to 'presume'  a charger would be sent....

Given that the vendor was selling because it was no longer needed due to the purchase of a new phone, one would imagine that if this is the truth then the 'phone' consists of what makes it work.  i.e. the battery and the cord to charge the battery. it does have a battery. 

The added complication of course now is that the screen doesn't work.

I can tell you now that this is the last time I will purchase from an ebay vendor a second hand item such as this.  Inanimate objects which have no moving parts or workings maybe but nothing like this.  This has been the last straw.

DON'T return it until PAYPAL gives you the address & as I said,make sure you send it both registered & insurred as you'll need to provide proof to Paypal of having returned it or you won't get a refund.

Scan the stamped registered post receipt or fax to Paypal-you should receive your refund within 10 days after phone shows as having been delivered back to seller.If you don't,get on the phone to Paypal.
