Also some of the negative feedback is not warranted ? I take no notice of negative feed back when i am purchasing,  Some customers are not kosher when it comes to feedback and realilstic services, you just have to read some of them, its laughable, Although i certainly would not like having negative feedback, Woman Tongue

I also dont think it is fair that the seller can no longer leave feedback, sometimes we get the runaround and no way to report it to others, it is very one sided, and probably needs to be reveiwed,

I also agree if the feedback is genuine and constantly ripping of customers then they should may be take it seriously

sorry thats my rant for the day

The stuff I could tell you about negatives..

yes there are a few really nasty buyers who leave hundreds of negatives etc.

However, I know of one seller on here in my catagory who had 6 different ID's and stole hundreds of thousands. I actualy provided Ebay with absolute evidence of what and how he was doing it and Ebay told me its none of my business and to get lost basically. They refused to do anything. Why you may ask? He was one of their protected sellers. Always on top of ebst match etc.

This went on for several months and they refused to act. Even when they had 100's of negatives.

They only stopped the account after the courts became involved.

Yet the decent sellers get their accounts hammered by Ebay or stopped for 1-2 negatives.

And if the police saw a man with a gun shoot someone, do you, um, err, think that they should MAYBE arrest him? It's this kind of bias that forced eBay's hand into banning sellers from leaving negative feedback.

Interesting cause I take negative feedback as gospel and panic when I've bought an item first then look at their feedback

Personally I never buy from a seller unless their feedback is 99% or more. At least then you can be 99% certain your item will be ok.

How long have you been selling for? Not long I guess, or you may well have a very different take on negative feedback.

I'm not saying it has NO place in the overall profile of SOME sellers.

However, I'm sure you'll find if you canvassed the opinion of MOST sellers about their experience with receiving neg feedback they would say that its a useful blackmail or retaliation tool of buyers in many many cases. A way to force sellers into doing their bidding with relation to transactions, no matter how unreasonable their demands, or 'punishing' sellers for not agreeing to exactly what the buyer wants.

I had this happen to me only yesterday. A new buyer (feedback 4) whacked me with a neg feedback because the shade of the item they received was not quite like the photos.

Experienced buyers are aware that colour (in my case, with clothing) is a vexed issue, when buying online and that different monitors will display slight variations in this area. I explained this to the buyer but it made no difference (surprise surprise).

Have learnt a useful lesson from this though. I will have to add that point to all my listings in future to try to cover myself against this happening again. No guarantees there, of course !!

I have received a negative on my other account because they thought the item was bigger. They didn't bother to read the description, because the size was clearly stated. How is that accurate and fair?

if you got negative feedback stating the item was small when you have dimensions or measurements in your listing ring ebay and ask them to remove the feedback as the buyer failed to read your listing. Be firm they will most likely remove it.

I had some turkey give me a negative stating he only bought one patch but received 2 of the same item.He blamed me for it.

He purchased the items 2 days apart paying for each straight away. Ebay removed the feedback and the defect that went along with it. Buyer error is what they said.
