i just asked a seller a question about 2 DVD"s($2.00) i would like to purchase off her,she has 8.00 postage on each one.
i would like to purchase both but pay 1 lot of postage as i know they will both fit in express envelope at no extra cost.
her reply was (no sorry prices are as is)
i just purchased 12 of these items from another seller and they all fit in a 5.80 post envelope.
i asked this seller the same thing as i dont want the cases just the DVD and cover she was more than happy to help.
now i do realise that handling fees apply but surely if purchasing more than 1 a better deal could be made.
i buy alot from ebay and have never had this problem before.
cheers

Most Sellers dont make a profit on postage, its not allowed however they are more than entitled to charge for packaging & handling.
I would also say find yourself a more agreeable Seller. Perhaps a lack of sales might give the seller a hint ......unfortunately though I wouldnt hold my breath.
The majority of Sellers are really reasonable with postage & handling charges if not hit the back button....
Hope you find what you're looking for.

Hmm,
I've just had the same issue. Purchased 3 items from a seller, 2 of which were similiar size, shape and weight. Checked postage on larger item and checked postage rate for 2 items. Worked out to be same rate as for one item.-$6.95 I then purchased another item which is flat and abt 4cm wide (silicon seal) The total weight of these 3 items is less than 100g and would fit in 500g Prepaid Satchel. with room to spare . So, I requested an invoice with the total amount owing. The response was that the quicker I sent him the money, the sooner I would get the item and "No Timewasters Please!!!"""" with full postage charges of $16.10. He advised that he will give positive feedback IF I give positive feedback. Never mind the fact that this request for money was less than 24 hours since the first purchase. ( I was also contemplating on purchasing another item from the seller- but will now go elsewhere due to the nature of his response to my invoice total request as well as the feedback "extortion".
Don't get me wrong, I am in total favour of sellers charging a little more on top of postage for fuel/packing time etc, but the price I ended up paying was excessive. (what bugged me was that I checked the postage costs BEFORE making the purchase)
I have paid for the items and have raised the issue of his comments to me-- so we will see how things go

What you need to do is ask the seller what the postage price will be, prior to purchase, not assume you know what it will be.

Well, Kudos to my Seller!
Whilst actually typing my orignal message, the seller has refunded part of the postage! Apparently he sent through a second modified invoice, but the amended postage did not update. No wonder he thought I was wasting his time! This re-iterates the fact that the majority of sellers are honest and sometimes things don't go according to plan. Now, we are both winners, I received a fair price for the postage and he got another sale on top of this one!
One thing about this seller, is that he is prompt with communication, so that is a bonus.
