Hi, can someone please tell me who is responsible for payment of postage if a dispute is opened?

Re: postage

PayPal will direct the buyer to return the item by tackable post at their expense (if case found in buyers favour) but refund the initial postage cost and p[rice of item - so each party pays postage one way

Re: postage

In short they simply reverse the original paypal payment.

Many seller will refund, or organise, shipping on damaged items if you are nice about it. But they don't have to.

Re: postage

The seller pays the original postage and you pay the return postage if PayPal find in your favour.

Re: postage

Aha!

EBay says to use FREE postage as it attacts more buyers! So ---

The seller has "FREE POSTAGE" so he pays that amount. The buyer pays "TRACKABLE POSTAGE" so the buyer is out of pocket by that amount.

Its going to get messy soon.

Re: postage

Why?

This has always been the case. Whether a seller offers 'free' postage or not, the entire amount will be refunded to the buyer, and the buyer will be required by Paypal to return the item by trackable means. And will always be out the return postage if the seller won't cover the cost.
