power jack is there more bad units on the way to AUS

i got a 8000w LF 12v 240v 50hz off ebay and i got it cheap for $480 i won in a bidding i got it in mail and pluged it in to my batteries and trun it on to charge battery up it last 2 mins and alarm went off and turn off then it turn it off and then i turn it back on then it worked i try a 1kw aircon on it and it work fine again then i had to charge batteries up again some prolem again it over heat and turn off so i emall the seller for help and she said it was normal for it to turn off and that they not help fix it as its normal for it so i put my feedback up for people to see that the charger over heats and turn off they said was normal and they not help some days go buy and i pluged in 100w of christmas lights to it in last 40mins then the lights turn off ? i walk to the inverter to here alarm going off and alot of black smoke come out of it so i turn it off fast  and it stopped working turn it back on amd alarm on right away and not working so i email the seller and they said no warranty anymore as i give bad feedback and they not help fix it

i see there was bad unit getting sold on ebay that they sell you the parts to fix it i seen 2 of them on there so its not just me that had problems with the inverters when i emal the seller again she said i remove the bad feedback and they sell mine to someone in AUS to buy it and i have to post it to them to get my money back so it looks like there more then just me with a problem with them

what im here for is to let people know there a problem with them as they getting sold cheap to us and that when the stopp working you have to buy the parts off them to fix it

the problem next is there more coming to us in a shipping container it get here on the 25th of dec and they selling they again before the container gets here then they post them to you so you think your getting a cheap deal but its not cheap when they stop working and you need to buy the parts to fix them parts start at $179 to fix it so add that to the price and some one to fix them to and you not get the parts from them if you put bad feedback on the seller to

you up to you guys if you like to lose money at your risk as im down $480 on a inverter that normal cost around $850 so this is why they be so cheap getting sold to us

If it is less than 45 days since you paid for the item you can open a dispute for Item not as Described.

If it was bought after the 1st November you can open a dispute through ebay and the seller will have to pay for the return postage.

Why would you want to get parts to fix something that is obviously faulty from the start?  Why risk a fire just to save a few $$$$?

I had to read this a couple of times - ' when i emal the seller again she said i remove the bad feedback and they sell mine to someone in AUS to buy it and i have to post it to them to get my money back' -  now, are they going to sell your broken one to someone here in Aus as 'working or for parts'?

IMO you may want to read carefully  and do some homework prior to bidding on this rubbish.

Probably wasting my time here, but you must have a lineup of batteries ready to run a 1kw aircon, because the startup load on that would be huge. Forget the xmas lights, that invertor sounds like it makes flashes by itself. Once you saw smoke, dont waste your time trying it again. Invertors are loaded with high current components, so by the time you see smoke, it;s all too late.

Re: power jack is there more bad units on the way to AUS

Besides the fact that the invertor is faulty, remember that you can only use around 80% of your available battery power, not the whole 100%. You will still eat through your batteries running that aircon, but you don't say how you are charging those batteries. You would need several good panels and a suitable regulator to keep up with the load. The fact that the invertor blew when the lights were loaded onto it is totally irevellent, as it would have been ready to go from the load of the aircon. That 8000w you have is probably the peak load or just the surge rating, the continuess power would be more like 3000w, so keep that in mind when adding up your items power draw. Forget the 8000, it's just a number, it will start up a compressor motor but then you have to revert back to the true output rating to run the thing.

Re: power jack is there more bad units on the way to AUS

I have recently bought a Powerjack 8000 watt 24v 240v 120a inverter charger from an Australian seller who supplied one with only one transformer inside! this model Power Jack is supposed to have two!

With only one transformer I have been advised that it can only handlle 2000 watts contiuously, a far cry from the 8000w stated in the spec, the weight has been changed on the spec to 22kg, when the same model available from the same seller for more $ weighs about 32kg

The transformers are about the most expensive part of the inverter.

can I start a paypal action and have the seller pay returnn postage? This inverter tripped out at 3360watts when tested.

The same seller seems to have found a way to make scrolling up and down their listings "count" as searches on both my search engines making it really really difficult to go to the previous page.

If you want the seller to pay the return postage you will need to start an Item Not As Described dispute in ebay, not paypal.
