Hi all, purchased a phone that doesn't cover the frequency in my rural location, but will work in most other cities etc, so really not a faulty item, just not covering WCDMA850, which is what I need. Not all mobiles cover all systems it seems. The issue is, the seller will exchange the phone for a model that works, but wants me to "on ship" the phone to the new buyer of my phone. I haven't heard of a seller requesting this action, and I am reluctant to do it because I would then become the ''seller" and responsible for any warranty etc. Also, I would consider it bad practice for a new buyer to be getting an item "second hand" rather than direct from the seller. I would rather return the phone to the seller so that the seller can check it before re selling it, as issues could blow up in my face so to speak if there are any problems with it. Any help would be great. Regards.

Is the seller asking you to on sell or on ship?
You would only be responsible if you were actually the seller (that is, by listing it and accepting the funds for it). If you are to send the phone on to another customer who has purchased from the seller, that seller is still responsible for all the related issues with the item (if any). If they just want you to on-ship, it's probably just to save on postage costs, but in all reality your phone should be sent back, checked etc before being provided to another customer, so I understand your reservations even if the seller is not requesting you onsell the item. Either way, I would politely decline and try to work something else out.

this may not be the normal waytodo things but i would do it and organise sign on delivery.
The main reason is I think this seller is being very kind to work out a solutionwith you, and he will now have to repost the item to you for the new phone and to the new buyer of the phone so he,she is out money. Are u payingh for the new phone to be shipped to you, thatmight make things easier for the seller.

Not exactly the same scenario but similar, I sent two buyers the wrong items, I had a replacement for one so asked them if they would post the other item direct to the right buyer if I included a prepaid, pre labelled c&s satchel with their replacement. They were happy to do so and both buyers were happy (the other 'wrong' item wasn't worth the cost of posting so I just told the buyer to keep it or give it away as they wished)
Only problem with that of course is that you cannot send a mobile phone using c&s or any other prepaid satchel, they have to be sent ordinary small parcel with a road only sticker.
Sounds like the seller is doing their best to help you at the least cost to them, all comes down to if you trust them or not.
The only way you could be completely covered would be if, with the seller's agreement, you opened a Paypal dispute and the seller agreed to a replace on return and then gave the new buyer's name and address for the return, that way as long as you sent it with tracking and SOD lodged at the PO you would be sure of a replacement or refund once it showed as delivered.
It says in this book I am reading that by 2065 80% of women will be overweight.
See what a trendsetter I am?
